Johannes J. VanBeesel, 80, passed away Thursday (November 26, 2015) at Haven Hospice in Edison. Born and raised in Germany, he lived in Cranford and Union before moving to Edison 20 years ago.
He came to the United States in 1957 and served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. He was the owner of VanBeesel Service Center in Edison, which he founded in 1962. He was also a long-time member of the Deutscher Club in Clark.
He is survived by three daughters, Theresa Howell (Steve) Donna Seidman (Dr. Barry) and Janeen Allmendinger (Keith); his sister, Hildegard Bihn (Guenter) of Germany; and five grandchildren, Courtney, Eric, LilyAnn, Kylie and Emery; and his nephew, Jochen, of Germany. He was pre-deceased by his longtime partner, Jodi Parascando, who died earlier this year; and his nephew, Thomas.
Visitation will be at Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave., Clark, on Sunday from 3 PM to 5 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery.
