Tom was an extraordinary teacher. We met when I was coordinating the Fed Challenge program at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He became one of the most enthusiastic coaches of students on his team. He shared his insights with coaches from other schools. He bought into the goals we established for the Fed Challenge and communicated with us frequently over the years - even after Lloyd Bromberg and I had retired from the Fed. His thousands of students over the course of his career were very fortunate to have him as a teacher/coach. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to see and speak to him at the Twentieth anniversary of TFC last April. My sincere condolences to the Hornish family.

So sorry to hear this news. AP European History was my favorite high school class thanks to Mr. Hornish, and he was one of the best teachers I've ever had. Condolences to the Hornish family.

Rest in peace Mr. Hornish. Your AP European History class was one of my favorite courses in high school, and you were an excellent cross country coach. I was slow and lazy but you made me love running, due in no small part to the bagels and Gatorade you brought to every meet.

Our family extends our sincere and deepest sympathies to the Hornish family.
Thom was a superior educator and coach who selflessly put others ahead of himself in everything he did. I was privileged to have coached with him and my children were able to have the opportunity to have been a student of his.
Our family held Thom is in highest regard because of the way he conducted himself in the most respectful and caring manner.
It's hard for us to come to grips with this sad news......God Bless Thom and may he rest in eternal peace in heaven.

Tom Hornish gave each of our three children all the passion, love, and interest he had for education, students, and life. He shared himself with all the Westfield High students. He gave of himself and so many got the benefit of knowing this wonderful teacher and coach. We are forever indebted to him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Donna and family. Thom was a very special friend to us, the family of Walt Clarkson. We remember Thom living with us in the beginning of his teaching at WHS, and I remember Walt being crown bearer at your wedding. May time and all your loving memories give you comfort during the days to come. Love, peace and blessings, Audrey Clarkson & family
