On Friday, April 2, 2021, the heavens welcomed a dancing angel, Wilma R. Nigito. Wilma, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 85.
Wilma was born on March 11, 1936 in Elizabeth, NJ to Frank and Emma Brunswick. She resided in Westfield NJ with her husband Joseph for many years where she worked as hairdresser at Tullio’s Hair Spectrum. She was best known for her passion for dancing. Wilma (and Joe) spent several years teaching County Western dancing and coordinating the Big Apple (Country Dancing Association), as well as competing in and judging many dance competitions. Wilma’s fun-loving nature, warm heart, and contagious smile truly touched the lives of countless others.
For the last 22 years, Wilma has lived at the Renaissance at Manchester, in Manchester, NJ where she continued dancing and participating in various showcases. She volunteered at the Kimball Hospital and the Club house where she continued to spread her joyful, uplifting personality with everyone she met.
Wilma is survived by her daughter Susan, son Frank, granddaughter Nicole, grandson Ocea, sister Marie, and former son-in-law Art. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph (1999), her granddaughter, Stephanie (2014), and her sister Lorraine (2020).
After a private cremation, a Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at 10:15 on Friday April 30, 2021 at St Helen's Roman Catholic Church 1600 Rahway Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
