Stanislawa Wojcik (nee Stopa) age 69, of Millburn, passed away on Thursday February 11, 2021, at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, with her two daughters at the bedside.
Stanislawa was born on October 17, 1951 to Olga and Wladyslaw in Stubno, Poland. She married Jan Wojcik and they welcomed their first daughter Iwona in Rzeszow, Poland. Stanislawa came to the United States with her daughter Iwona to join her husband in 1986 and they welcomed their second daughter Natalia, the following year.
Ever since she came to the United States, she was an active parishioner at the Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Irvington, NJ. At the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and participated in many church fundraisers such as helping with cooking and baking for the church events. Stanislawa also enjoyed attending the monthly night devotions at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus R.C. Church in Linden.
Stanislawa was a loving wife and mother, who was dedicated to her family and couldn’t be prouder of her two daughters. As a mother, it was her goal to ensure that she was able to provide all the opportunities and tools for her daughters to grow into strong, ambitious women. She also found it very important, to make sure that they did not forget their polish heritage. She made it a priority for her daughters to attend Polish School throughout their youth and adolescence, be involved in the Polish Community and Polish Church.
Stanislawa was supportive, caring and a loyal friend. She had the beautiful ability to make many close friends wherever she went. Prior to her sickness, one of Stanislawa’s favorite activities was coffee after church with her friends and daughter Natalia.
Stanislawa loved to garden, write in her journals, take walks around the neighborhood and most importantly spend quality time with her daughters.
After a 3 year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome which eventually turned into Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Stanislawa succumbed to her sickness on February 11th.
Stanislawa is survived by her two daughters; Natalia Wojcik and Iwona Wojcik with her husband Andrew Purwin; her sisters Krystyna, Wladyslawa, Janina and her brothers Czeslaw and Marek; along with many close friends.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 34 years Jan Wojcik (2009).
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Sunday February 14, 2021, from 2-6 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Funeral Ceremony will begin on Monday at 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10 am, from Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Irvington.
