Obituary

Ronald Matlosz, age 74, of Clark, passed away at his residence on Tuesday August 23, 2022.

Born in Elizabeth, to Louis and Mary Matlosz, Ron was raised there, he then resided in Cranford for several years before moving to Clark 25 years ago.

Ron honorably served in the US Army Reserve from 1971-1976 attaining the rank of Medic. Ron was a retired vice principal in the Elizabeth school system. During his time with the Elizabeth Board of Education he also taught at Elizabeth H.S. and the Edison Technical Vocational High School. He was an All State Baseball player, made it to the College World Series with Arkansas State University, and is in the Union County Baseball Hall of Fame. He even received a call to try out for the Los Angeles Dodgers upon graduating college. Ron was also a long-time youth baseball coach.

Ron had a passion for vacations and cruises to Disney with his family (sometimes multiple trips within the same year!), his love and factoid of every James Bond movie, trips to the Hideout and relaxing on his pontoon boat. He would also never miss a chance to attend the annual Union County Hot Stove dinners with his brother, Ray.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Lisa (nee Baginski); two sons, Tyler and Kyle Matlosz; one brother Raymond and his wife Susan; two sisters, Regina Verescak and her husband Paul, and Maryann Dixon and her husband Dan; Father-in-law John Baginski; Sister-in-law Christine Ashley and her husband William; nieces and nephews, Ryan and Randy Matlosz, Alexandra Mershon and Jaclyn Verescak, Katie and Ken Dixon, and Daniel Wieczezak.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday August 25, 2022, from 5-8 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Funeral Ceremony will begin on Friday August 26, 2022, 8:15 am, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 am, at the St. Michael’s R.C. Church, Cranford. Entombment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
