Phyllis E. (Scutieri) McGarry

Phyllis E. McGarry (nee Scutieri), age 97, of Colonia, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, Ocala, Florida. 

Born in Elizabeth, to Carmelo and Filipina Scutieri, she has been a long-time resident of Colonia since 1959.  Mrs. McGarry was a dedicated homemaker raising her eight children in Colonia. She was a dance instructor for over 30 years devoting most of her time at the Evergreen Senior Center in Woodbridge Township.

Mrs. McGarry is survived by her seven children: Phyllis Nordberg (Robert), Patrick McGarry, Carol Izzo (James), Thomas McGarry, Rosemarie Palermo (Michael), Joseph McGarry, and John R. McGarry (Donna); ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband the late James J. McGarry (1993), son James, and nine siblings.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday July 13, 2023 from 3:00-7:00 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Avenue, Clark, New Jersey.  A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 8:45 am on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Funeral Home, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am, at St. John Vianney R.C. Church, Colonia, New Jersey. Interment will be held at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, New Jersey.
