Patricia E. (Gallagher) Gjertsen

Patricia E. Gjertsen (nee Gallagher), age 93, of Rahway, peacefully passed away at her residence, surrounded by her family, on Sunday June 21, 2020.

Born in Rockaway Beach, NY, to James and Annette Gallagher, Mrs. Gjertsen, was raised in Bell Harbor and has resided in Rahway for the past 70 years. She was a homemaker dedicated to her family. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Rahway and the Young at Heart Group of St. Mary’s. Mrs. Gjertsen was as sharp as a tack, enjoyed her weekly dining out with friends, and continued to ride her bike up until 10 years ago. She was truly devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Gjertsen is survived by three children; two daughters, Judith Miklasavige and her husband Donald, and Sandra Gjertsen; a son, Dr. Richard Gjertsen and his wife Lissa; three grandchildren; Suzanne Barich and her husband Jason, James Miklasavige and his wife Leanne, and Anna Gjertsen; three greatgrandchildren; Addison, Anastasia, and Raelynn.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years the late Harrold Gjertsen; two brothers; James and John Gallagher

A Private Gathering will be offered on Thursday June 25, 2020 at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066, followed by a Blessing. Interment will follow at the St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
