Nazario Solomon, Jr. Obituary

Nazario “Bonjack” Solomon Jr., of Roselle, NJ, passed away on April 17, 2020. He was born to parents Nazario Sr. and Lourdes on August 11, 1952 in Alfonso Cavite, Philippines. Marking 50 years this year, Nazario married his wife Erlinda on October 3, 1970. 

From August 1976 to 1993, Nazario served in the Integrated National Police/Philippine National Police (PNP) in several municipalities of Pampanga. His career included Chief of Police, Deputy District Director for Administration, Intelligence Officer, and Chief Investigator. In May 1993, he left the PNP as a Police Chief Inspector/Police Major to immigrate to the United States with Erlinda and their children, Jeremias, Felix, and Mary Ann. Marilou remained in the Philippines and Juanito moved to the US in 2019.In the US, Nazario worked at Elizabeth General Medical Center (now Trinitas Regional Medical Center) for almost 26 years until his death and was alsoa Detention Officer with the Correctional Corporations of America (CCA/CoreCivic) until he retired in 2019. 

Nazario is survived by his wife Erlinda; his son Juanito and wife Amor; his daughter Marilou and husband Johann; his son Jeremias and wife Annaliza; his son Felix and wife Marie; his daughter Mary; and his grandchildren John, Angelo, Andrew, Nathan, Joram, Paulo, Pauline, Patrick, Anjelica, Jeydan, Jacob, Rafael, Francis, and Bryson. He is also survived by five siblings: Seny (Carlos, deceased); David (Beatriz); Jesus (Lita); Belarmina (Klaus); Manuel (Mayette); and many nieces and nephews.

Nazario was a loving husband, a devoted father, caring grandfather, and an extremely hard worker. In the Philippines, he will forever be remembered as “Papa Jack” for his generosity and selflessness. 

God has now called him home and will be welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his parents, his brother Antonio, sister-in-law Estelita, and others who have gone before him. May you rest in peace and continue to watch over us until we meet again.

A Private Committal Service will be offered at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, a Celebration of his Life will be postponed while New Jersey endures the limitations on travel and gatherings.
