Margaret Tamburino, 78, of Rahway, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway.
Born in Orange, New Jersey, Margaret had been a resident of Rahway for the past 38 years. She worked as a secretary for the Board of Education of Clark for 15 years and was recently retired.
Margaret is survived by her loving son, Anthony Guerriero and his girlfriend Laura Sansone; her brother Dominic Tamburino, his wife Linda and their daughters Debra Ann (Damon) Ferber and Donna (Santo) Williams and their four grandchildren; Justin, Kylie, Matthew and Alysa. Margaret is also survived by her sister Maria Tamburino and Maria’s Daughters Natalie (Mark) Tortorello and Nicole (Adam) Spector and four grandchildren; Dante, Sawyer, Cecelia, and Zeke. She spent many holiday and special times with them, baking cookies, playing games and going to the beach. Margaret leaves behind her devoted friends Eleanor Gordon and Raymond (Carlos) Kiederling, as well as dozens of cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Anthony Tamburino in 1997.
Margaret was a loving, generous woman who always saw the positive in everything. Family and friends were extremely important to Margaret, and she always made an effort to keep in touch with loved ones. She had friends from all areas of her life, from her childhood in Newark to friends from her various jobs, and across all ages. Known to many as “Aunt Marge”, she always gave good advice and was a great listener. She loved dancing and the Yankees and was a lifelong Elvis super fan who had dreamed of visiting Graceland.
A Private Gathering for the immediate family is being offered on Thursday, June 11, 2020, followed by an Entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601
