Malgorzata W. (Zalasik) Kuza

Malgorzata W. Kuza, M.D., (nee Zalasik), passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, surrounded by her family. After a successful fight against cancer nearly two decades ago, she succumbed to complications related to her treatment.

She was born in Lodz, Poland, to Andrzej and Wanda Zalasik. She completed her studies at the Medical University of Lodz and worked at the Polish Academy of Sciences. After emigrating to the United States, she specialized in internal medicine and practiced until her retirement in 2019.

Dr. Kuza resided and raised her family in New Jersey for the past 40 years. As a physician, she established and developed her own medical practice in Perth Amboy and Edison, NJ. In addition, she saw countless patients at Raritan Bay and JFK Medical Centers, the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, and served as medical director of St. Joseph’s Senior Home.

Known to many as Margaret, she enjoyed traveling, sailing, skiing, tennis, and cooking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an exemplar of compassion, empathy, and professionalism. As a dedicated physician, she touched thousands of lives and remains an inspiration to many.

Dr. Kuza is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Krzysztof Kuza; her three children: Dr. Catherine Kuza, M.D. and son-in-law, Dr. Jeffry Nahmias, M.D.; Steven C. Kuza, Esq. and daughter-in-law, Caroline Craig; and Dr. Agatha Kuza, V.M.D.; her deeply adored granddaughter, Charlotte Nahmias; and her brother, Krzysztof Zalasik.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Avenue, Clark, NJ 07066. A Mass of Catholic Burial will begin on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Helen R.C. Church, 1600 Rahway Avenue, Westfield, NJ 07090. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude R.C. Cemetery at 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
