Mafalda (Segnan) Decleva

Mafalda Decleva (nee Segnan), age 91, passed away surrounded by family on Monday October 12, 2020, at a family friend’s residence.

Born in Fiume, Italy, to Michael and Frances Segnan, Mrs. Decleva has resided in Rahway for the past 40 years. Mrs. Decleva was a homemaker for most of her life. She did spend many years working as a nurse’s assistant. Mrs. Decleva was a published author who wrote about her life as a young girl growing up in Italy during WWII. She loved the beach and will be remembered by family and friends as an incredible, vibrant person with a heart so large that the whole world could fit in it.

Mrs. Decleva is survived by one sister, Yolanda Miculiani; two nephews, William Segnan and his wife Deborah, and George Miculiani; one niece Lucy Book and her husband Donald; dear friend, Cecilia Ercolino and her husband Kiernan and their son Oliver.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Libero Decleva (2003); three brothers, Mario, Nereo, and Victor Segnan; one brother in law Otavio Miculiani.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Friday October 16, 2020 from 4-7 pm at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Funeral Ceremony will begin on Saturday October 17, 2020, at 8:15 am, from the funeral home, thence proceeding to St. Agnes R.C. Church, Clark, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 am. Interment, St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
