John P. Baumann

Loving husband, father, and Poppop John (Jack) Baumann of Linden, NJ passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on October 2, 2019. Born in Irvington, NJ to William and Agnes Baumann, Jack and his twin brother Joe were the youngest of five.

After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, Jack and his wife, Gerri Baumann, raised their family of three daughters and one son in Iselin, NJ. Jack retired from PSE&G after 42 years as supervisor of the meter department. During his retirement Jack delivered Meals on Wheels, played golf, gardened and attended his grandchildren’s sporting events. He and his wife traveled the United States, but he always had a special place in his heart for Long Beach Island, NJ where they, their four children and nine grandchildren enjoyed countless happy summers.

Jack was predeceased by his father William Baumann, his mother Agnes Baumann, and his siblings Robert Baumann, Ruth Murphy, and twin Joseph Bauman. He is survived by beloved wife Gerri (nee. Byrne) Baumann, daughter Dianne Dolan and her late husband Keith Dolan, son Bill Baumann and his wife Lin Baumann, daughter Linda Baumann and her husband Kevin Larkin, daughter Elaine O’Leary and her husband Jim O’Leary, sister Mary Gallagher and her husband Jim Gallagher, sister-in-law Vicki Schneider, and nine grandchildren Kelly, Brittany and Julia Dolan, Zachary, Corey and Cecelia Baumann, and Katie, Ryan and Sean O’Leary and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral on Saturday October 5, 2019, at 9:30 am, from the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066, thence to St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am. Entombment, St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday October 4, 2019 from 3-7:30 pm.
