Edward C. Mackiewicz

Edward C. Mackiewicz, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his residence in Rahway on April 12, 2022. 

Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, to Edward and Ellin Mackiewicz, he lived in Linden for several years and Rahway since 1989. Mr. Mackiewicz began his work career in the automotive industry, went to school for computer systems and accepted a position as a computer programmer for Siemens Hearing instruments in Piscataway, followed by working for B.J.’s as a butcher. He continued his employment as a butcher for 34 years with A&P and most recently Acme. 

Mr. Mackiewicz was one hundred percent dedicated to all that he was interested in and attempted. Among many things were a passion to cook and a true food enthusiast, he loved animals,music and movies, especially sci-fi like Star Wars and Star Trek. 

He has owned multiple Oldsmobile’s over the years and fixing and racing cars was one of many interests. You can say he was an overall auto enthusiast and collector.

Skeet and target shooting was a big deal for Eddie for many years.

Mr. Mackiewicz was a member of the N.R.A and the Northern NJ Police Revolver League of Pequannock, Lake Island Rifle Club, the Lodge Linne No. 429 of New Providence. He was an audiophile with great interest in Ohm’s speakers and Carver audio equipment. Each year since 2008 he always looked forward to being with his friends at the yearly Carver Festival in North Carolina.

Mr. Mackiewicz will be remembered by friends and family for his even keeled kind nature from top to bottom. He always believed in treating others how he expected to be treated, that was his way. 

He is survived by his close Cousin Thomas Stokkan and his family in Norway; one aunt, Gro Stokkan; multiple cousins; other family and distant cousins in both Norway and across the United States of America; and many friends from both work and his many interests.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday April 16, 2022, from 1-4 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. Private Cremation Services to follow.
