Barbara L. (Bukwich) Southard

Barbara L. Southard (nee Bukwich), known to her Grandkids as Queen Barb, age 77, passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2023 surrounded by her family at her residence.

Born in East Orange, to George and Helen Bukwich, she resided in Maplewood for 65 years before recently moving to Clark 3 years ago. She worked as a legal secretary for five years at the Englehart Industries of Newark and 25 years at Sears in Livingston as a Women’s Department Manager and then to appliance sales in Woodbridge. Her most rewarding and lifelong job was Mom and Grandma!

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years John R. Southard; two daughters, Melissa Miskell and her husband Greg, Heather Tomasso and her husband Domenic; one sister, Carol Guarino; four grandchildren; Erin, Ryan, Jacob Miskell and Luciano Tomasso.

She is predeceased by her parents and siblings Angela and George Bukwich.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Sunday April 30, 2023, from 3-7 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am, from St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden. Interment, Brig. General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
