Amelia M. (Rodrigues) LaFerrara

Amelia M. LaFerrara, 63, of Clark, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born on April 25, 1960 in Paredes de Coura, Portugal to Mr. Fortunato and Mrs. Francelina Rodrigues and grew up in Newark NJ.  She graduated from Kean University with a degree in finance and worked as a Senior Manager in Finance for Verizon for over 34 years.  Once she retired, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening her own business, Sew-and-Show in Garwood for 12 years, where she taught sewing classes and ran the “Beanie Baby Project” that donated items made by the Girl Scouts to the Children’s Specialized Hospital.  Amelia married Louis LaFerrara in 1982 and they had two beautiful children: Louis LaFerrara (31) and Nicole LaFerrara (29) of Clark.  She is mourned by her dear brother Mr. George Rodrigues of Clark and reunited with her two brothers Mr. Victor Rodrigues and Mr. Carlos Rodrigues who passed away before her.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many, who had a deep love for the shore and spent many happy summers swimming, boating, and relaxing by the water.  She was a lover of animals and had a passion for gardening and sewing.  She is survived by her husband, her children; her nieces and nephews: Tina, Chris, Alex, Stephanie, Anthony Mark & Sarah; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on May 26, 2023 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066.
