Amalia R. Weakland (nee Kopp), age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday July 23, 2021, at the Clark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Rahway, NJ to Jacob and Gladys Kopp, Rose, as she was known by family and friends, was a longtime resident of Clark. She dedicated her life to her family. Mrs. Weakland volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader in Clark. She and her husband Joe were true partners, and traveled the county to national parks and historic sites for many years during annual trips in their RV.
Rose is survived by three daughters, Sharyl Tutela and her husband Richard, Linda Weakland and her partner Larry, and Jodene Weakland; five grandchildren, Katherine, Nicholas, Stacey, Rosalie, and Kelly; great granddaughter, Zora; and brother, Jack Kopp.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty years Desmond J. (Joe) Weakland (2007).
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden, followed by a Private Entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Arrangements are in the care and direction of the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066.
