Albert W. Dorant

Albert Warwick Wyndham Dorant, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his residence on Thursday February 3, 2022.

Born in St. Michaels, Barbados, to Dudley Walters and Alma Dorant. He came to New York after secondary school in 1948. Mr. Dorant honorably served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He worked as a cargo agent for British Airways 25 years before retiring. He most recently resided in Springfield for the past 10 years.

Mr. Dorant is survived by his daughter, Michelle Dorant-Smith and her husband Jimmie Lee; two grandchildren, Carolyn and Micah Dorant-Smith; one sister Shirley Inniss. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years the late Velda Ometa Dorant (2017).

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday February 10, 2022, from 9:30-10:30 am, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Avenue Clark, NJ 07066. A Committal Service will follow at 11 am, Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
