William M. McCarthy

William M. McCarthy, age 87, of Clark, died at his residence peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday December 21, 2018.

Born in Dublin City, Ireland, to Daniel and Amelia McCarthy, Mr. McCarthy has resided in Clark for the past 56 years. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for the College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown for 10 years. He held that same position over the years at Squibb of New Brunswick, Mutual Benefit Life of Newark, and Prudential of Newark. He Honorably served in the U.S. Air Force as a Airman First Class from 1957-1961. Mr. McCarthy was a member of the American Legion Post 328 of Clark andd was active parishioner of St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral on Friday December 28, 2018, at 8:30 am, from the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave., Clark, thence to St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am. Interment Services are private at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive Suite 900 Arlington VA 22202.

Mr. McCarthy was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years Julia (2014). He is survived by 2 children Delia McCarthy of Oakland and Daniel E McCarthy of Clark; 1 sister Mary Coffey of Ireland; 2 grandchildren Caitlin and Colleen Gooney; 1 niece Geraldine Coffey of Ireland.
