Walter Shearcraft

Walter G. Shearcraft, 90, passed away Saturday (December 31, 2016) at RWJ Rahway Hospital. Born in Elizabeth, he lived most of his life in Clark.

Walter was a veteran of WWII stationed in the Phillipines,California and Washington having served in the US Army. He was employed with as a maintenance supervisor with Interbake Food in Elizabeth for many years before retiring.

Walter was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed attending the Linden Concert Series.

He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine, who died in 2002. Surviving are his sisters, Patricia “Pat” Shearcraft and Eileen Tchorz (Paul); his nephews, Jason, Paul and Joseph Tchorz, Scott Shearcraft, John Magierowski (Diana) and Adrian Oddi (Andrea), Ted Magierowski (Chris); his niece, Cindy Prochilo (Anthony) Diane Freed (Doug),Nancy Policastro (Craig), Debbie Dobles (Steven); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Chelsea, Lindsay, Quentin, Eric, Nick, Jessica, “Danny, Chris, Jared, Scot, Trista, Lyla, and Shelby; and his beloved dog, “Brutus”.

The funeral will be from Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark, on Friday January 6, 2016 at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass at St. John the Apostle R.C. Church at 10 AM.  Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Companion Critters in Clark, P.O. Box 5883, Clark, NJ 07066 or the Friends of Linden Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 2151, Linden, NJ 07036.
