Pete Staib Obituary

Peter Arthur Staib 07/24/1981 - 05/15/2018 Pete died peacefully in his sleep on May 15, 2018.
Pete was a son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He was a gentle soul with a heart big
enough to love everyone he met. His kindness and trust were two of his greatest attributes -
they brought him great joy but left him open to tremendous hurt. He loved with every fiber of his
being and reveled in even the smallest kindness extended to him. He was his own harshest
critic. Pete loved his mother without limitations. His sister was his greatest sparring partner and
his closest friend. His pride in his nephew was total. His brother-in-law became his brother
protector, confidante and friend. Pete had many friends, some of those friendships enduring
since elementary school extending until now. He took great pride in maintaining those
friendships and shared in each friend’s joys, pains, hopes and dreams. Peter will forever be
loved and cherished by his mother, Maureen, his sister, Lauren Weingartner, his nephew, Eddie
Weingartner , his brother-in-law Eddie Weingartner, and his extended family Ray & Chris
Greenhouse. Pete’s devotion to his four-legged friends is well known. What began with Artie
multiplied when he adopted Zeus and then Reggie. Anyone planning to make a donation in
Pete’s name may want to consider People for Animals in Hillside, N.J.
