Mildred E. Galvanek, 97

Clark – Mildred E. Galvanek, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Ashbrook Nursing Home in Scotch Plains.  Born in New York, she had lived in Woodbridge before moving to Clark in 1987.

Mildred was a registered nurse and worked as a private duty nurse at Rahway Hospital and at what was formerly Perth Amboy General Hospital.

Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph A. Galvanek, who died in 1993 and by her two granddaughters, Margaret and Tracy. She is survived by her children, Eleanor Kislan (Eugene),Catherine Light (Frank), Richard Galvanek (Sharon) and Jeannette Galvanek; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Steven, Michelle, Steven, Kristin, David, Matthew, Jade, Sarah, Julianna and Marissa; and her 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be from Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark on Monday, Oct. 3rd at 8:45AM followed by a 9:45AM Mass at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Clark. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 2nd from 4-8PM.
