Obituary

Joseph N. Stacy, age 87, of Clark, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 30, 2019, surrounded by his family.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, to Vincent and Amelia Nastasi, Joseph resided in Clark for 60 years. He honorably served in the US Army from 1954 - 1956 and then an additional four years with the Air National Guard. Joseph worked hard and was devoted to his wife and family his entire life. He began his career as a tool maker, and then worked as a machinist. As a young family man he worked for RCA, with top secret clearance on a space program for the US government. Later, he was a designer draftsman, and was employed for many years, and retired from, the Plasma Physics Laboratory of Princeton University. Joseph was especially proud of his work on the nuclear fusion reactor at the laboratory, the largest, and at the time, one of a kind in the world.
As a young man, Joseph played baseball, and was an avid fan of baseball and football throughout his life. He loved playing cards, especially black jack, going to the casinos with his wife and friends, listening to music, and watching movies. He coached his son’s childhood soccer team. Since retirement, he had the pleasure of participating in numerous activities through the Clark Recreation Department, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Joseph is survived by his loving children, Katherine Greenspun and her husband Peter of Vienna, VA, Joseph Stacy and his wife Maureen of Cumming, GA, Arlene Joaquim of Neptune City, NJ, and Bryan Stacy and his wife Dorene of Bethlehem, NJ; beloved grandchildren, Samantha Greenspun Schoop and her husband Joshua, Liza Greenspun Yang and her husband Peter, Jacob Greenspun, Hollie Joaquim, Patrick Joaquim, Kaitlyn Stacy, Sophia Stacy; great grandchildren, Ace Wesley Greenspun and Isabel Rose Schoop.
