John “Jack” S. Kolibas

John “Jack” S. Kolibas, age 69, of Linden, died on Thursday May 17, 2018, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway.
Born in Elizabeth, to John and Claire Kolibas, John had since lived in Linden for over 50 years. John honorably served in the U.S. Army National Guard, as a Specialist Four, Co A 250th Sig Bn, from 1970-1976. He was a long time educator, English teacher, and most recently Principal of Myles J. McManus Middle School in Linden. John, known to those close to him as Jack, was a proud 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Linden Council #2859 and past Grand Knight. He sat on the Linden Board of Education and was also a past president. John was a member of the NJ Sea Grant Consortium. For those who knew him best, family and friends, it goes without saying he was an avid boater, fisherman, cyclist, runner, and dedicated fan of the Yankees and Giants.
He is survived by his beloved wife 45 years Nancy (nee Villanova); Loving children Christopher John (Rose) and Patrick Francis (Diana); stepmother Ellen Kolibas. Brother James M. (Mary Ellen); sister in law Anna Kochis (John) and Paula MacDowell; cherished grandchildren Ava, Julianna, Samantha, Olivia, and Evan; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are kindly invited to attend the Funeral on Tuesday May 22, 2018, at 8:30 am, from the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, thence to St. Elizabeth’s R.C. Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am. Interment, St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation Monday May 21, 2018, 3-5pm and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association 1 Union St. Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
