Frank “Skippy” Pitera
Born in Newark NJ to Pauline and Martin, Frank “Skippy” Pitera grew up in South Plainfield. He was a Clark resident since the 1950s.
Mr. Pitera proudly served this county in the United States Navy aboard the battleship USS Massachusetts in Africa and the Pacific during WWII. He worked as a boiler technician before retiring from Western Electric in Kearny NJ after 43 years.
Skippy was an avid Yankees fan, a backyard gardener of vegetables, the favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews, a great friend, and always lived his life with abundant smiles and laughter.
He was married 72 years to the love of his life and soul mate, Olga, who passed in 2016. She was “always in his heart”.
Frank passed away Saturday, November 25th, 2017 at RWJ University Medical Center in Rahway. He was 95 years old.
