Edward W. Basta, Jr., age 62, of Woodbridge, passed away on Saturday April 13, 2019, at the Overlook Medical Center, Summit.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Gathering on Tuesday April 23, 2019, from 11am-1pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 1 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ. In lieu of flowers, as per Edward’s wish, kindly offer donations for the benefit of Sean E. Lavin.

Born in Elizabeth, to Edward, Sr. and Irene, Mr. Basta grew up in Kenilworth, he lived several years in Edison and most recently Woodbridge for the past 6 years. He worked for 30 years with NJ Transit, of Newark, most recently as the Assistant Superintendent. Mr. Basta was a graduate of Rutgers University receiving his MBA.

Mr. Basta is survived by his brother Richard E. Basta and his wife Maureen, sister Joan Agneta and her husband Michael; he was the caring guardian of Sean E. Lavin; 1 niece Heather Mailler; 3 nephews Michael Basta (Jennifer), Thomas Basta (Anne) and Mark Mailler (Nicole).
