John M. Migton, 62, passed away suddenly on Monday morning (November 9, 2015) at his home in Clark.

Visitation will be at Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A parastas will be conducted at 3 P.M. and a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M.  The funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 A.M. at St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Stiles St, Elizabeth.  Interment will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.

John was born in Newark and lived in Hillside before moving to Clark 25 years ago.

He graduated from Long Island University’s Brooklyn College of Pharmacy with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a master’s degree in industrial pharmacy.  He was a registered NJ Pharmacist.

John worked for Bristol Myers Squibb for 33 years in research and development and as a supervisor in production. John earned several awards during his years of service including two patents for his work.

He was a member of Lafayette Lodge F & AM of Rahway, where he served as the lodge’s chaplain. He was also a member of St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Elizabeth. John was a member of the Train Collector’s Association.  In addition, he loved to spend time outdoors working in his garden and walking his dog.  He also helped to chaperone dances for the Midland School alumni.

John will be sorely missed by his wife of 35 years, Joan; his daughters, Barbara and Christine; his mother, Mary Migton; his brother, Marty Migton and wife Michelle; his sister, Debbie Migton Makosiej and her husband Frank; his nieces Mary, Alexa and Mary Ann, and his nephews, Christopher and Nicholas; his mother-in-law, Olga Miketzuk; his brother-in-law, Andrew Miketzuk, as well as his dog, Lolli.  He was predeceased by his father, John Migton .
