Clark – Christopher H. Staunton, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home in Clark.
Born in Elizabeth, he had most recently been living in Clark. Chris grew up in Mountainside and attended the regional high school there. He went on to Emory Riddle College in Daytona Beach, FL, where he studied Aviation. He continued his studies and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jersey City University.
Chris worked most recently as a salesman with Bob’s Discount Furniture in North Plainfield. He had also worked as an Insurance Advisor with Rahway Savings Bank and a Computer Networking Engineer with Comcast, as well as at L’Oréal in Clark.
Chris was a pilot, and had been flying since the age of 17. He excelled at watersports, and enjoyed fishing and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was a sharpshooter and member of the NRA.
Chris was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Staunton, who died in 2013. He is survived by his father, Albert F. Staunton; his brothers, Douglas Staunton and Allan (Lauren) Staunton; his nephews, Jack and Jesse; his aunt Barbara (Billy) Chang; his cousin, Bradford and his beloved black lab, TC.
A Memorial Gathering of friends and family will be held at Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave, Clark, NJ on Saturday, October 1st from 4-5PM with a service beginning at 5PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army (www.salvationarmy.org) or to the VFW (www.vfw.org/contribute). Arrangements are by Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home in Clark (www.krowickigorny.com).
